HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 29, 2026) – There were no injuries reported to residents or Holland Department of Public Safety firefighters following a predawn house blaze on Wednesday.
First responders were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block Crescent Drive, west of the Heinz pickle plant, around 6:15 AM. They came upon flames coming from the attic of a two-story, single-family structure, and after making sure that all occupants were safely evacuated, crews needed about 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control, staying a couple of extra hours in searching for any hidden pockets of fire.
The second floor of the dwelling sustained significant damage, but no dollar estimate was immediately determined, nor was a cause of what started the fire. Fire Marshal Bret Groendyk noted an overloaded circuit providing power to an electric space heater in the area that may be linked to this incident, which remains under investigation.
