ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 18, 2026) – A 36-year-old Allendale man was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash into a residence on Sunday afternoon.
No name was disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes following the incident around 2:45 PM at a home off of 68th Avenue south of Lake Michigan Drive (M-45). The single motorist was driving southbound in a SUV when his vehicle veered off the roadway to the right, struck a tree, and ended up smashing into the house.
The driver was able to get out of the SUV by the tine first responders arrived, and he was taken to an unnamed “Grand Rapids area hospital” by Life EMS. There were residents inside of the dwelling at the time, but no injuries were reported, and damage was considered minor.
The incident remains under investigation.
