SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 12, 2026) – It looks to be a routine Saugatuck City Council business meeting on tap for Monday evening.
The governing panel will be briefed on the municipal audit for Fiscal 2025, which will show that the city’s net financial position increased by more than $2.3 million to approximately $12.8 million in cash and investments, around $1.3 million in long-term debt, and no net pension liability. City Manager Ryan Cummins said in a written report for this meeting that some of the savings are being invested into several capital improvement projects “that are in the works.”
The only new item of business is approving the purchase of a new pickup truck to replace an aging Public Works vehicle that has more than 62,000 miles on it. The city would pay Todd Wenzel Buick/GMC in Westland over $55,000 for a 2026 Sierra through the state’s MiDeal Contract program, which is within the $60,000 that was budgeted for in the current Fiscal 2026 spending plan.
The Saugatuck City Council’s 6:30 PM session is in the second-floor meeting room of Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
