ALLEGAN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 8, 2026) – The Allegan County Board of Commissioners held its first meeting of 2026 on Thursday morning.
Following a 9 AM organizational session, in which the board members unanimously chose Scott Beltman of Hopkins as their new chairman, replacing Gale Dugan of Owosso, Mark DeYoung of Dorr and his fellow members on governing panel went over several issues, including adopting a five-year recreation plan.
In addition, Chris Kleinjans, Community Impact Officer for Housing with the Allegan County Community Foundation, addressed the commissioners on efforts to improve the housing situation in the county.
