BLENDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 18, 2025) – A 60-year-old Olive Township man was critically injured in a two-vehicle, fiery crash near Borculo on Wednesday evening.
First responders were dispatched to Tyler Street and 96th Avenue around 5 PM, where a westbound sedan apparently drove through a stop sign and struck a northbound SUV. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to veer into a ditch, where the SUV then caught fire.
The four persons in the SUV – a 39-year-old West Olive man behind the wheel, his 41-year-old wife, and two children, aged eight and six, were able to escape the flames with minor injuries. The single motorist of the at-fault sedan was pinned in and had to be extricated by rescue workers. He was first taken to Zeeland Hospital, and subsequently flown to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for further treatment.
No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
