UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 8, 2025) – In a MHSAA 11-man football championship tournament district final last night, Zeeland West won at St. Joseph, 48-24, as Brandon Holman ran for three touchdowns and caught a pair of six-point aerials from Drew Albrecht. The Dux will travel to Lowell, a 28-21 victor over Middleville Thornapple Kellogg, in a Division 3 regional final next Friday, with the probable broadcast time at 6:40 PM on WHTC Holland’s Cool FM.

Both of Ottawa County’s college football teams are home on Saturday, with the Hope Flying Dutchmen welcoming Calvin to Ray & Sue Smith Stadium in Holland this evening, and the Grand Valley State Lakers entertaining Michigan Tech at Luebbers Stadium in Allendale this afternoon.
In state major-college football today, Eastern Michigan hosts Bowling Green State.

Brendan Cargill tossed in 25 points as Hope’s men opened the basketball season by winning at Anderson last night, 98-83. The Flying Dutchmen are at Franklin this evening.
At the Wisconsin-River Falls Invitational last night, Hope’s women opened the basketball season by defeating Wisconsin-LaCrosse, thanks in part to 21 points from Leah Richards. The Flying Dutch face the host Falcons this evening.
In state major-college basketball last night, Notre Dame disposed of Detroit Mercy, 102-70, and Oakland fell at top-ranked Purdue, 87-77. This evening, Arkansas is at Michigan State, and Central Michigan is at Bradley.
