LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Republican state Representative Jaime Greene of Richmond says she is being punished by House Speaker Matt Hall of Richland for taking a bipartisan diplomatic trip to Israel.
The committee she chairs was stripped of all its bills yesterday and the legislation was given to other committees.
She told MIRS News in a text from Israel before getting on her flight home that it appears “there’s only room for one woman at a time in Matt Hall’s doghouse” and thanked fellow GOP Representative Pauline Wendzel “for keeping the doghouse warm for me” while she was on the trip.
The House Energy Committee chaired by Wendzel had six bills taken away on July 24 after she wasn’t on the floor for votes on a school cellphone ban and life without parole sentencing guidelines for people between 18 and 21, and both of those did not pass.
