HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 30, 2025) – A string of stalking and harassing incidents dating back to last December involving a 31-year-old Holland Township woman may have ended with a Thursday arrest and a Friday arraignment of a 32-year-old Virginia man.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Jake Sparks, the unnamed woman was initially assaulted nearly six months ago, before the suspect apparently left the state to avoid police contact. The suspect, Christian Montijo of Manassas, Virginia, returned to the area earlier this month, and the assaults resumed.
Early on Thursday morning, the victim found Montijo hiding in the back seat of her vehicle as she was entering it to go to work. He damaged the vehicle as he fled from responding deputies, and Montijo was eventually tracked down and arrested by state police troopers in the South Haven area.
On Friday, the suspect was arraigned on a variety of charges, the most serious of which was assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder. Montijo was ordered held on $150,000 bond by 58th District Court Judge Judy Mulder.
