OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 27, 2025) – If the Ottawa County Board holds another business meeting on Tuesday night as long as it did two weeks ago, it may not recess until Wednesday morning.
It was a long day at the Fillmore Street Complex for first-term District 1 Commissioner Jim Barry and his colleagues on January 14th as they went over the board rules with the proverbial fine tooth comb.
In the end, the rules changes were approved on an 8-3 vote, with former Board Chairman Joe Moss joining the majority in support.
Highlighting the Tuesday meeting agenda is approving an employment agreement with retired Sheriff Gary Rosema to be the Interim County Administrator while the search for a permanent operational leader commences, and a closed-door session to go over a proposed settlement of a lawsuit filed by former Administrator John Gibbs over his dismissal a year ago.
The Ottawa County Board meets at 6:30 PM in the County Administration Building (12220 Fillmore St., West Olive). A link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
