ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 19, 2024) – A four-vehicle pileup in Allendale late on Monday afternoon ended with a couple from Zeeland being hospitalized.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) at 60th Avenue around 4:35 PM. That was where a southbound SUV turned into the path of a westbound pickup, causing an initial collision. The truck then veered across the median and into the path of an eastbound pickup, causing another collision. That pickup then struck another pickup beside it.
The two Zeeland motorists in the initial eastbound pickup truck – a 65-year-old man behind the wheel and a 71-year-old woman beside him – were taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” for treatment of unmentioned injuries. The other drivers involved – a 21-year-old Okemos woman in the SUV, a 48-year-old Coopersville man in the westbound pickup, and a 39-year-old Allendale woman in the second eastbound pickup – were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
