Hope College junior Ainsley Harris has been chosen as the MIAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week.
The forward from Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) was honored for the first time in his career.
Harris helped the Flying Dutch defeat two league opponents last week by recording two goals and one assist.
A double major in physical and health education and secondary education, Harris scored both goals during a 2-1 victory against Trine University at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The first goal gave Hope a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. The second goal snapped a 1-1 tie in the 51st minute.
Harris also had an assist during the Flying Dutch’s 5-0 victory at Albion on Wednesday.
Harris now has four goals and three assists this season for Hope (9-2-1, 4-0 MIAA).
