OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 15, 2024) – The brief tenure of Jon Anderson as Ottawa County’s operational leader is over.
Deputy Administrator Ben Wetmore notified county commissioners on Monday that Anderson has tendered his resignation as Interim County Administrator, effective immediately. He was appointed to handle those duties this spring upon the dismissal of John Gibbs, but then submitted his 30-day notice in early September, citing renewed responsibilities to a previous employer. Anderson was encouraged to remain on a part-time basis while the board began a search for a permanent replacement, and he initially agreed to that arrangement through the end of the year.
The Board has formed an Executive Transition Committee to conduct a search for a new Administrator, with Wetmore set to handle the leadership duties for the time being.
