TROWBRIDGE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 12, 2024) – A fall fun tradition turned sour south of Allegan on Saturday evening.
According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Blair Kacos, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to M-40 near 110th Avenue at 7:24 PM. That was where a southbound SUV struck a southbound tractor that was pulling a hay ride with several persons onboard.
Some of those on the trailer were hurt, although Kacos did not go into how many were on board and the extent of their injuries. In addition, three persons in the SUV were also injured, and all of them were taken to undisclosed “nearby hospitals” for treatment.
Kacos didn’t reveal any names or residences of those involved, but did say that alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the incident, and that the case will be turned over to the Allegan County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for review of possible charges. The matter remains under investigation.
