MONTEREY TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 9, 2024) – Two persons in a passenger vehicle lost their lives in a collision with a semi north of Allegan on Tuesday evening.
No names were immediately disclosed by Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Bernard Austhof, as he and other first responders were dispatched to the area of 30th Street and 134th Avenue around 8:15 PM. That was where the westbound passenger vehicle apparently drove through a stop sign and into the path of the northbound truck. The two persons inside of that vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, while the trucker was not hurt, but his load of milk overturned, causing a large spill. It took about six hours to not only clean up the scene, but to conduct a reconstruction investigation, as is routine in cases of fatal crashes.
The incident remains under investigation.
