ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 2, 2024) – Autumn may have begun on the calendar on September 22nd, but along the Lakeshore, the fall season kicks off in earnest in Zeeland this coming weekend.
Although Pumpkinfest is during the first weekend of October, the activities actually began last Friday with the Zeeland Festivals’ Avenue of Art on Main Street that features large, wooden structures intricately decorated to match the Pumpkinfest theme of “Happily Ever After” for 2024.
A 5 PM event on Thursday at the Howard Miller Library includes what organizers are calling an “array of exciting activities,” including free donuts and cider for the first thousand visitors, horse-drawn carriage ride, surprise character appearances, and a meet-and-greet of Lakeshore authors. Friday brings Kidzfest on Church Street, along with a laser light show at dusk, and the festival parade is on Saturday afternoon at 3 PM.
Mayor Kevin Klynstra is looking forward to all this.
