HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 25, 2024) – The city of Holland Parks Division isn’t about to stop a good thing when it sees it.
On Tuesday, the city announced that Windmill Island Gardens’ season will be extended into October. The home of the authentic Dutch DeZwaan Windmill will host an Artisan Market as part of the Downtown Holland Fall Fest on October 4th and 5th. There will be 85 local vendors on hand to sell a wide variety of arts and crafts, with a five-dollar admission fee.
The following two weekends, the park will be open on Fridays through Sundays at a reduced non-resident admission of five dollars per person. Staff will be planting over 168,000 tulip bulbs during the month in advance of next spring’s Tulip Time Festival. On November 1, ticket sales begin for the annual Magic at the Mill Christmas Holiday event held on weekends in December.
Windmill Island Gardens officials say over 130,000 guests from 95 nations came to the 36-acre park in 2024, the fourth time that has happened since DeZwaan came to America in the mid-1960’s. Many of those visited after Holland’s Signature Event.
