The Chicago Red Stars announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher for the 2025 NWSL season.
The two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champ and 2024 Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. Women’s National Team has been with Chicago since 2016.
“I’m excited to be returning to Chicago for my 10th season,” she said. “I’m looking forward to being on the field with my teammates, competing for championships and continuing to try to make this club the best it can be.”
Naeher, 36, has started 135 regular season matches with the Red Stars.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alyssa back for her 10th season with the club,” general manager Richard Feuz said. “She has always been invaluable for the club in the goal. Having her world-class talent and leadership on and off the pitch next season, anchoring the team, sets up the Red Stars for an exciting 2025.”
Including a previous stint with the Boston Breakers, Naeher holds the NWSL record for saves and is the league’s first goalkeeper to play 15,000 minutes and 150 matches.
