WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 24, 2024) – Two schools in the Grand Haven Area School District have been honored by the US Department of Education.
On Monday, Rosy Mound Elementary School in Grand Haven and Lake Hills Elementary School in Spring Lake were among 12 in Michigan and 356 across America in receiving a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School designation. The accolade comes through excellence in academic performance, which both of these schools achieved, or in making significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups.
For the second time in their history, Rosy Mound and Lake Hills will display a flag signifying their achievement. Both schools had earned this honor in 2018. Last Year, Dorr Elementary School in the Wayland Union district and Robinson Elementary School in the Grand Haven Area district were such winners.
