Mya Duram, passed away on September 7, 2024, at the tender age of 26. Mya was born on April 8, 1998, and her gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Mya’s kind heart and love for animals were evident to all who crossed her path. She had a deep-seated affinity for animals, reflecting a heart brimming with kindness and compassion.
After graduating from Zeeland East High School in 2017, she briefly studied accounting, but her true calling lay in the warmth of the coffee world. Rising through the ranks to a managerial role at Starbucks, she shone brightly, a testament to her work ethic and dedication. Managing others may have been a step outside her comfort zone, yet she navigated the complexities of leadership with grace.
An introverted spirit, she treaded softly but left imprints of generosity wherever she roamed. Mya was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by those who survive.
Mya is survived by her mom, Lora Duram and Dominic Gradozzi who filled the father role for Mya after the untimely passing of her father, Mark Duram, in 2003; siblings: Andrew Duram and Morgan Duram; aunts: Deanna (Ed) Howe, Lisa Powell; grandparents: Jerry and Carol Hopma, Ron and Karen Duram; cousin, Erin Howe; best friends: Erin Austin, and Maddie Lindsey; as well as many friends and coworkers.
Mya was preceded in death by her father, Mark Duram in 2003, as well as by grandparents, Tony and Mary Powell.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland, MI, 49464. Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Humane Society or to “be nice” mental health foundation of West Michigan.
