David J. Mulligan, age 71, of Holland, died of complications of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myelodysplastic syndrome on Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born in Hastings, Michigan and raised in Middleville, Michigan.
He was the son of John Charles Mulligan and Rita Mary (Schneider) Mulligan. Being born of these virtuous parents, whom he loved and revered, and the example of goodness they provided, was a pivotal gift from God.
David acknowledges with loving gratitude his brother, John Craig, and wife Deborah, who were so very helpful during the course of his medical treatments and treatment recoveries.
Also, loving thoughts to his nieces: Michelle, Melissa (husband, Jeff), and Megan, as well as his nieces’ children: Jennifer, Andrew, Emma, Ava; also his dear thoughtful cousins and neighbors.
The Kohlmeyer’s must be especially mentioned, allowing David to feel as though he were a member of their family during his middle years, and which were in many respects, the happiest period of David’s life.
These acknowledgments would be abjectly incomplete without recognizing his close friends…in so many ways the mainstay of David’s later years.
David apologizes deeply to whomever he may have offended during his life.
David gives most thanks to God in His Blessed Trinity and as the infinite source of all love, goodness, truth, beauty, and mercy.
A memorial mass to honor David’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Ave. Holland, MI 49424. Interment will be in Ressurection Life Cemetery, Wyoming, MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
