Margaret Theresa (Fiorino) Frasso, 98, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Holland, Michigan. She was born on January 10, 1926, in Hartford Connecticut to Joseph Fiorino and Eva (Antolyak) Fiorino. The family resided in Hartford, CT where Marge graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1943. While in school, Marge’s love of music drove her to sing at numerous events throughout her school years. Music was a big part of her family life as well. Some of her fondest memories were of singing along with her father and uncles and of playing her grandmother’s player piano. Her favorite uncle, Anthony, helped her to practice vocals and taught her about breathing and voice control.
Following High School, Marge worked as a telephone operator, a typist for the Government at Bradley Field during the War years, and then with the VA in Hartford, where she eventually met her future husband, Steven Frasso. After a year of dancing, movies, and listening to music (which they both loved), they were married in Hartford on November 29, 1947.
Immediately following their honeymoon in New York City, they moved to Southington and then a short time later, Milldale. During their years in Connecticut, Steve and Marge had six children (four sons and two daughters). In addition to this, Marge continued to enjoy her love of music by singing in local Summer Stock Musicals.
Seeking better employment, Marge and Steve moved their entire family to California in 1960. She spent the rest of her working years as a Medical Assistant until both she and Steve retired in 1987. As an empty nester, Marge lived in Lake Havasu City, AZ, Venice, FL, Naples, FL, and most recently Holland, MI to be closer to family.
Marge is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph Fiorino and Eva Antolyak, her brother, Rocco Fiorino, her husband, Steven John Frasso, and her son Michael Peter Frasso.
Marge is survived by her children John Frasso (Diane), Kennewick WA, Steve Frasso (Cori), Holland, MI, Mary Hicks (Doug), Lake Havasu City, AZ, Laurie Short (Mike), Holland, MI, David Frasso (Julie), Garden Grove CA along with 18 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.
Marge will be interred at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Naples, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, MI 49423 or online at https://www.hollandhospice.org
