(Reuters) – Chelsea have signed United States left back Caleb Wiley from Major League Soccer side Atlanta United on a six-year contract, the Premier League club said on Monday.
Chelsea did not disclose the financial details, but British media reported the deal was worth around 8.5 million pounds ($11 million).
A product of Atlanta’s academy, Wiley made his MLS debut in 2022 and has made 85 appearances, scoring six goals.
He made his U.S. debut last year in a 1-1 draw against Mexico.
Wiley is with the U.S. squad in Paris as they prepare for the Olympic Games.
