UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, July 17, 2024) – During last night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Arlington, won by the American League, 5-3, the local contingent did the following: The Tigers’ Riley Greene went oh-for-two at the plate, while his Detroit teammate Tarik Skubal pitched one clean inning; the Cubs’ Shota Imanaga pitched one clean inning with one strikeout; and the White Sox’ Garrett Crochet allowed one hit with one strikeout in one inning of pitching.
Organized baseball resumes regular-season action on Friday: Detroit faces the Blue Jays in Toronto, with broadcast time at 6:40 PM on 99 7/1450 WHTC; the Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks in a Wrigley Field matinee; the White Sox battle the Royals in an evening contest at Kansas City; and the West Michigan Whitecaps welcome the Dayton Dragons to LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park for an nighttime encounter.
