OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 15, 2024) – The events of this past Saturday in Pennsylvania, in which a gunman attempted to kill former President Trump at a campaign rally, brought to light what people should do in an active shooter event.
Registration for the latest “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events” class, offered by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, opened last Wednesday morning. This free, two-hour-long session offers what instructors such as Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Koster say are thought-provoking and eye-opening strategies for surviving such a crisis situation.
While this class deals just with an active shooter matter, those in blue, brown or black have to address related issues involving more than just firearms.
Registration was required for the July 16th CRASE class, which will be held at 6 PM in the main conference room of the Ottawa County Fillmore Street Complex in West Olive (12220 Fillmore St.). Space was limited to 78 persons, with all spaces filled as of Monday evening.
