Maudie Wilcox passed away peacefully at age 101 after a brief illness at her residence in Holland, MI. She was born June 14, 1923 and died June 27, 2024. She enjoyed celebrating her 101st birthday with family and friends.
Maudie was born in Ionia, Mi to the late Stuart and Leta Graham, and grew up in Grand Ledge, MI. She graduated from Michigan State College as a Registered Dietician. She remained a loyal Spartan fan her entire life.
She was endlessly curious and interested in the world, continuing to learn new things until her passing.
She spent most of her adult life in Kalamazoo, MI, retiring to Sebring, FL where she lived 35 years and learned her passion of painting with water colors. After moving to Holland, when she was 90 years old, she made numerous friends and took many different classes at Evergreen Commons keeping her forever young.
Maudie was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Marshall in 1968 and Robert Wilcox in 1995 and her partner of 18 years Bill Spilker in 2014 and her son David Marshall in 1986.
She is survived by her daughters Kay Marshall of Kalamazoo, and Deborah Perkins of Holland. Grandchildren Leta (Mike) Essenburg of Grand Haven, Peter (Meghan) Pryson of Vicksburg and Joshua Perkins of Holland. Great Grandchildren Amanda Groters, Megan Groters, Kylie (Jordan) Blades, Trevor Pryson, Lydia Pryson, Mara Pryson, and MacKenzie Perkins. Great great Grandson Carter Carpenter.
Visitation and luncheon will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11am at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland. Graveside services for the family will be held later at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo.
