William J Cnossen, Jr, 71, passed peacefully with his children surrounding him on June 20th to his eternal home, after a short illness. “Bill” as he was affectionately known, was born on August 3, 1952 in Holland, Mi to William Sr. and Harriet (VanderHulst) Cnossen. He lived most of his life in Holland, graduating from West Ottawa High School and worked at different factories in Holland, the longest being Haworth.
Bill was an avid sports fan, loved to talk to his kids about sports, as well as go watch his grandchildren play their favorite sports. He will forever be a Michigan and Detroit Tiger fan. His thoughtfulness was impressive, never missing a birthday of his children or grandchildren, making them never doubt he was always thinking of them. Not one to sit long, he would pop in, stay long enough to say hello, give you a birthday card, or bring your dog treats and be on his way.
He leaves behind his children and beloved grandchildren, Daniel & Cammi Cnossen (Corbin, Case, & Colt), Jill & Shawn Bush (Tyler, Alyssa, & Koda,) and Kyle Cnossen. He also leaves behind his beautiful great granddaughters Aubrey & Charlotte, his siblings, Helen Kouw and Frank & Betty Perin, with multiple nieces and nephews. Among his best buddies, that will also miss him, are his pup, Darla, and a longtime friend Dan Gutknecht who was willing to help him fix anything. He is preceded in death by both his parents, William and Harriet Cnossen & a special Aunt, who he took wonderful care of, Della Kohler.
Bill will be cremated per his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held on the evening of August 3, his birthday, with more details to come. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice of Byron Center.
