HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 19, 2024) – Summer school is starting a little late at Holland High School.
A coolant leak in the air conditioning system at that facility has necessitated the cancellation of classes for this week, according to Holland Public Schools spokesman Jason Craner.
The program has been shortened to five weeks as a result, with students receiving a Chromebook to work from home.
In related news: The basketball and volleyball summer camps will resume today, as well as sports performance and the summer breakfast and lunch program. Summer learning at West Elementary is not affected by the Holland High situation, and all other camps and events will continue as scheduled.
The district hopes that the air conditioning system at the high school will be repaired by the end of the week.
