HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 30, 2024) – For the second time this month, a Holland community resource has promoted from within to fill a leadership vacancy.
On Wednesday, the Holland Museum board announced that Michelle Stempien, who has been the museum’s education and outreach manager for the past four years, will take over the executive director’s duties when Ricky Levine’s retirement takes effect on June 30th. Stempien, who has 18 years experience in museum work, emerged among 40 candidates after what the board said was an extensive national search. Levine, who was in charge for seven years, will be honored by the museum board in a special invitation-only ceremony at the Macatawa Legends Golf Course on June 12th.
On May 7th, the Holland Area Community Swimming Pool Authority Board selected general manager Amanda Duimstra as the Holland Aquatic Center executive director, replacing Jack Huisingh, who is also retiring on June 30th after more than a decade at that post.
