ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 6, 2024) – It’s Zeeland’s turn to come up with a municipal budget for Fiscal 2025.
Five days after Holland passed its spending plan for the business year that begins on July 1, the Zeeland City Council meets on Monday evening to first hold a public hearing, and then vote on a nearly $22.9 million financial blueprint, with $10.6 million in general fund expenditures. However, the property tax rate of 11.23 mills will remain steady for a 16th straight year, three years longer than in Holland, but Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra admits that City Hall may not be able to hold that line taut much longer.
A work-study session beforehand gets underway at 5:30 PM ahead of the 7 PM business meeting, both of which will be in Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
