Gil built a career for 37 years working for Hart & Cooley in Holland. As a father, he was always very involved with his two sons, mentoring them through cub scouts, boy scouts and being a local soft-ball team coach for many years. He was known for his work ethic and finance management, which he instilled upon his two sons at an early age. Gil and his family attended Calvary Christian Church in Holland.
Gil enjoyed golf, bowling and he loved taking care of his lawn. He took great pride in having “the best lawn in the neighborhood”. Even at an older age, neighbors would see him outside mowing his own lawn well into his 90’s. He loved to keep active his whole life. Being an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He also loved to watch golf on TV.
Gil was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and second life-partner, Francis Lannin. He received much happiness from going out dancing with his first wife Esther and then later in life, with Frances. Gil enjoyed life and he had many friends throughout his time on earth.
Gil will be laid to rest next to his wife Esther, at Pilgrim Home Cemetery on 16th street, in Holland.
