LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 30, 2024) – A chance to look at flowers other than just tulips is on Tuesday evening south of Holland.
The Outdoor Discovery Center kicks off its spring season with a Woodland Wildflower Walk. From 5 PM to 6 PM, hikers will take both the upper and lower loops of the Sanctuary Woods Park (4750 66th St.) to explore plant and animal life in this dune-type area. Those aged six and up are welcome, and there is a 170-stair climb up a dune as part of the excursion.
Registration through the Outdoor Discovery Center is appreciated but not required, although the ODC says that, “at present, the event is full. Please check back periodically for potential openings or contact Outdoor Discovery Center (616-393-9453) for further assistance.”
The free event is sponsored by the Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission.
