John James (Jim) Dwyer, 91, of Zeeland, formerly of Holland, passed away peacefully. He went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Jim was born February 7, 1933, in Holland, Michigan, to John and Ann (Koetsier) Dwyer. He graduated from Holland High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Vander Hill in 1958 and they raised their three daughters in Holland. Jim and Mary are members of Christ Memorial Church.
He will be missed by his family, and he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, their children: Jan and Keith De Kleine of Zeeland, Jeanne and Bill Putnam of Rockford, Katie and Jeff Kloosterman of Jamestown; grandchildren: Abby & Dave Zeerip, Betsy & John Maxwell, Kevin & Michelle Burnham, Bre & Mike Keller, Christopher and Jasmine De Kleine, Mark VanDokkumburg, Danika Putnam, Will Putnam, Analise Kloosterman, Grace Kloosterman, Brynn Kloosterman; 9 great-grandchildren with the 10th to arrive in June; brother-in-law Jack (Hilda) Vander Hill; and many extended family members.
A celebration of Jim Dwyer will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in the Sanctuary of Christ Memorial Church (Please use entrance C), 595 Graafschap Rd., Holland MI 49423. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday, April 30, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
