PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 28, 2024) – Terry Sims was missing … again, but he has been found safe … again.
For the third time in an 11-month span, the now 21-year-old Port Sheldon man walked away from the adult foster home that he has been living at, in the vicinity of 164th Avenue and New Holland Street. On Saturday afternoon, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christopher Dill reported that the 5-5, 135-pound black man, with short black hair and brown eyes, had left the residence on foot around 12 Noon. He was believed to be wearing a tan or brown plaid shorts, and a dark-colored hoodie.
In the matter of six weeks, Sims was twice reported missing last summer, for periods of 20 hours and 40 hours. In each instance, he was spotted and returned to the adult foster home safely. In the first disappearance, a man fitting his description was spotted on Grand Haven’s south pier, and it is believed that Sims has an ongoing affinity for being along bodies of water.
Around 11:30 PM, Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer reported that Sims was located and is safe, but gave no other details as to the circumstances of his discovery.
