On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Janet M. Vander Veen (84) of Holland, walked into the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ.
Janet was born on June 27, 1939, in Comstock, MI, to parents Rev. Peter and Ella Spoelstra and grew up as a preacher’s daughter traveling from Michigan to Sumas, WA to Churchill, MT. After graduating high school in 1957, she went to Pine Rest nursing school prior to meeting the love of her life, Gus, in Delavan, WI after her retired father preached as a visiting pastor at the church Gus attended. They were married on June 27, 1964.
Some of the best years of her life were when she and Gus were living in married housing at Ferris State College where Gus earned his engineering degree. Janet also loved planning family get-togethers, camping with her grandchildren, and playing games with friends and family.
Dearly loved by her husband, children, and grandchildren, Janet will be deeply missed. She was dedicated to her family, a wonderful homemaker, and a Nana that found great joy in her grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church.
