Calvin Lewis Van Ommen, 82, of Holland, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Florida.
Cal lived his entire life in Holland and Zeeland. He graduated from Zeeland High School and later married Mary Kay Weener in 1962. They raised their three children in Holland and they are members of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by Lee and Florence Van Ommen, John and Ruth Weener, siblings: Leroy (Louise) Van Ommen, Don (Henrietta) Van Ommen, Elwin ( Ethel) Van Ommen; in-laws: Phyllis and Austin Schrotenboer, Shirley Weener.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Mary, their children: Deb Busscher and Jim De Young of Zeeland, Lori and Dave Smallegan of Holland, Chris and Nikki Van Ommen of Holland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jodi Busscher and Barry King (Camden, Ashlyn, Morgan, Madison), Heather Smallegan, Kellie Smallegan and Colt Englesman, Madison Van Ommen and friend Collin Berghorst, Colton Van Ommen and friend Tarrah Barnes, Fisher Van Ommen, in-laws: Norm Weener, Cal and Emily Weener, Paul and Ginny Weener, and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, 4055 112th Ave., Holland MI 49424. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Monday and 10:00-10:45 am Tuesday, all at Noordeloos CRC. Interment will be in Noordeloos Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Noordeloos CRC Cadets.
