HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 12, 2024) – The home of the symbol for Holland has its formal opening of the season on Saturday.
Built in 1761, the DeZwaan Windmill was the last exported by the Netherlands when it arrived in Holland in October of 1964, and Saturday will commemorate the 59th anniversary of its unveiling at Windmill Island Gardens.
City Manager Keith Van Beek says that it’s a civic jewel that sometimes is taken for granted.
More information on opening day activities, along with other events and attractions, is online. Catch a live broadcast of “WHTC Talk of the Town” from Windmill Island Gardens this coming Wednesday, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, on 99 7/1450 WHTC.
