Thelma Gayle Staal, age 88, went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 8, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Henrietta VanderMeer; brother, Alan and Evelyn VanderMeer; sister, Sharon VanderMeer; and great-grandson, Myron Dykema.
She is survived by her husband, Hugo Staal; son, Thomas and Amy Staal; daughter, Elisabeth and Steven Dykema; son, Michael and Nancy Staal; grandchildren, Jacob Staal, Daniel Staal, Kyle Dykema, Justin and Ta’Shara Dykema (Marta), Camron and Ashley Staal, Mickayla Staal, Nicole and Jason Puckett (Anthony, Gavin); brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Homegoing Celebration services are at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Victory Point Ministries, 11530 Ransom Rd. Holland, MI 49424. An additional time of visitation will be available 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service.
Burial to take place in Zeeland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Thelma’s honor may be given to Corewell Health Hospice.
