GRAND HAVEN TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 9, 2024) – Three persons were hospitalized following a three-vehicle pileup southeast of Grand Haven on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jake MacKeller, a 38-year-old woman from Muskegon was driving eastbound on Mercury Drive around 1:45 PM when her vehicle crossed the center line at Bignell Drive. It struck an westbound vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old Grand Haven woman. The force of the collision sent both vehicles spinning into a third vehicle, driven by an 86-year-old Grand Haven woman.
The Muskegon woman and her 50-year-old passenger, also from Muskegon, as well as the younger Grand Haven woman, were taken to undisclosed “area hospitals” for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the older Grand Haven woman was not hurt.
No names were revealed, nor any circumstances that led the Muskegon woman to drift over the center line, while the area was blocked off for about an hour, as the incident remains under investigation.
