LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 3, 2024) – Legislation to help local communities set speed limits on its roads is now state law.
On Tuesday, Governor Whitmer signed House Bill 4012, which will allow communities more flexibility in establishing safe speeds, according to the legislation’s sponsor, Republican Brad Slagh of Zeeland Township.
It allows for slower speeds if circumstances necessitate it.
The third try proved to be the charm for Slagh, who has pushed for what is now Public Act 33 of 2024 for all three of his two-year terms in the state House.
