Joyce Branderhorst was born in Hamilton, MI on August 18, 1927, to Gerrit and Gertie Sale. She passed into Heaven’s Gate early Wednesday morning March 27, 2024, finally home.
Joyce met her husband of 54 years, Kenneth, roller skating at the Pavilion in Saugatuck, MI. They lived in Hamilton and raised two daughters. Joyce worked on the celery farms in Hamilton, and in the egg division of Hamilton Farm Bureau. She enjoyed golfing with her cousins well into her eighties. Joyce was a member of Calvary on 8th Street. In her later years, she did volunteer work in the church office with her friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her granddaughter Heather Edgerly Brower; and her son-in-law Ron Edgerly. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Edgerly, and Nola (Warren) Berens; grandchildren, Daniel (Heather) Edgerly, Holly (Corey) Kragt, Robin (Jeff) Wierenga, Susan (Seth) Bykerk, and 8 great grandchildren.
A very heartfelt thank you to the admin and staff of Resthaven Maple Woods Cottages for the 6 ½ years of loving, Christian care provided to mother.
A private graveside service to honor Joyce will be held. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery.
