OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 1, 2024) – You’ve heard the PSA on our stations and other media outlets over the past three weeks.
School leaders such as Nick Cassidy of Holland and Tim Travis of Saugatuck have banded together to form the #StopThinkVerify campaign, aimed at educating students, parents, guardians and the community at large about the dangers of deepfake technology and other digital manipulations, along with promoting digital literacy and safety.
It’s a case of those being affected by it knowing far more than Cassidy and members of the Ottawa Area Superintendents Association who are trying to prevent it.
This collective awareness initiative can also be used for other threats to youngsters, but Cassidy admits that this alone isn’t enough.
