LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 28, 2024) – Two local communities looking to improve their roads are in line for state funding.
Governor Whitmer’s office announced on Thursday that 17 villages and small cities will share in $3.1 million in Community Service Infrastructure Fund Category B Program cash. Among the recipients is the city of Fennville, getting $250,000 for work on East 1st and Park streets, and the city of South Haven, in line for over $151,000 to renovate Elkenburg Street.
The program, begun six years ago and aimed an communities with populations of up to 10,000, will fund projects involving road resurfacing, culvert replacement, pavement crack sealing, and other preventative efforts.
