SAUGATUCK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 23, 2024) – If Saugatuck area residents see a structure on fire on Saturday, officials of the Saugatuck Township Fire District are assuring them that the situation will be under control.
Crews from six area departments will be on hand in the area of 127th Avenue and 66th Street for a controlled burn exercise. The drill, which is slated to run from 8 AM to 5 PM, will include fire evolutions leading to the eventual burning down to the ground of the targeted structure. Flames and smoke will be visible, and intermittent traffic detours may be necessary during the course of the exercise, which STFD officials say will be conducted in compliance with federal fire and environmental regulations.
Anyone with any questions is encouraged to call the Fire District at 269-857-3000.
