Russell Dreher, 80, passed away on March 10, 2024.
Russell (Rusty to most of his family) was born in Detroit, MI and was heavily involved in the Turner’s athletic club all throughout his youth and young adulthood. He served his country in the United States Navy. He married Judith and together they raised 3 children who grew up in West Branch, Michigan. He loved watching and playing golf and even owned his own golf shop for a few years. For most of his career, Russell worked in the advertising business. He worked in art, print, and amost every media imaginable at the time. He was a resourceful, resilient, and responsible father who was extremely supportive of his son’s athletic involvement.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Dreher; son, Gregory Dreher; son, Eric and Maria Dreher; son, David (Andreana Abdalla) Dreher; grandchildren, Trent Dreher, Troy Dreher, Kayda Dreher, John Marriott, Taylor Marriott, Caitlin Dreher, Destiny Dreher; sister, Georgine Larsen; and sister, Shirley Schneider.
Russell is preceded in death by his grandson, Sam Marriott, and brother-in-law, Paul Schneider.
Visitation with the family will be 11:00 am-11:45 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home at 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464. A Memorial service will immediately follow starting at Noon the same day with Father Patrick Maher officiating. The family will be hosting an informal gathering for friends and family after the memorial service. Additional information will be shared at the service.
