HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 8, 2024) – An annual spring ritual is on Sunday at 2 AM when most of the nation “springs forward” to Daylight Savings Time.
In Holland, this second weekend in March is the start of the city’s Spring Clean Up. Residents may rake yard clippings, shrub trimmings, wind-blown twigs and small branches onto the curb of road shoulders for pickup by street department crews. Refuse or stumps are not included in this effort. According to Holland City Manager Keith Van Beek, crews may be making early sweeps of neighborhoods ahead of last call, beginning on April 8th.
In Saugatuck, the first spring brush and leaf pickup is set for Tuesday, March 19th for those east of the Kalamazoo River, and the following day for those west of that watery divide.
