HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 8, 2024) – Although we have had a mild winter weather wise along the Lakeshore, the need for providing warmth and basic needs in the community hasn’t abated.
The 34th annual Walk for Warmth by the Ottawa County Community Action Agency is on Friday evening from 6-8 PM through Window on the Waterfront Park on the northern edge of Downtown Holland. According to OCCHA Weatherization Program Coordinator Barb Koenig, walkers are encouraged to wear neon clothing and carry glow sticks for this “Glow Walk” that begins at the EV Construction headquarters off of East 6th Street.
Koenig explains just what the Community Action Agency is.
The purpose of the Walk for Warmth is to provide a helping hand, which it did to the tune of $10,888 in order to assist 224 families.
