WAYLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 29, 2024) – The search for an 81-year-old Wayland woman who went missing on Thursday afternoon ended happily on Thursday evening.
The concern by family and friends is that Sharon Kay Shoemaker suffers from dementia. She was last seen driving an orange-colored 2017 Dodge Journey with a black design on the doors, and was wearing a white shirt, red sweater and black pants.
Around 7:30 PM, an Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Ms. Shoemaker and returned her safely to her family. The Wayland Police Department gave no further details as to the circumstances which led to the discovery.
