Stephanie Jean Harris, at the age of 44, left her family and friends peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, following her battle with a relatively short illness.
Stephanie leaves behind her husband, Clinton Lynn Harris, Sr., and her three children, Braylon Harris, Mariah Harris and Cameron Harris, Jr. Stephanie also leaves behind three step-children, Clinton (Brittany) Harris, Jr., Chris (Ariel) Harris, and Cameron Harris.
Stephanie was born in Holland, Michigan, on September 4, 1979, the daughter of Beverly (Bill) Dunn and Ron (Cheryl) Elenbaas. She had four siblings, her twin sister Mindy Kamper, sister Danielle (Nate) Glennie, and brothers Blake Dunn and Brad Dunn. She also had five step-siblings, Ryan (Courtney) Lambert, Lindsey (Brandon) Kaid, William Dunn, Nick Dunn, and Sallie (Dunn) Kiekover. Stephanie leaves behind not only her husband, children, parents and siblings mentioned above, but also her grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who she loved so much, and who will all miss her and her infectious smile.
Stephanie met the love of her life, Clint, when they both worked at Damon’s in Grand Haven. When Damon’s closed, she became a manager at Red Robin in Holland, and then worked at Allen Lund as a trucking broker. Most recently, she worked part time at Zeeland Public Schools in the food service department.
Stephanie was always dressed to impress. She loved life, the beach, the sun and cocktails on the boat. She loved sports, playing volleyball, basketball and softball from a young age all the way until her graduation from West Ottawa High School in 1997. She went on to Grand Rapids Community College and played basketball and volleyball.
The most important thing to Stephanie was her family. The highlight of her life was the day she gave birth to her son, Braylon. She loved being a mother, big sister, grandma to her grandchildren and most recently the adoptive mother of two of her grandchildren, Mariah and CJ. Stephanie loved watching and cheering on her children in their sports. She was also a strong supporter of her brothers, Blake and Brad, watching them compete in their sports at Saugatuck Public Schools, and both she and Clint were special fans and supporters of the football program where her step-father, Bill Dunn, is the head football coach. She was especially proud of and followed her brother Bradley, who played baseball at Grand Rapids Community College, and her brother Blake, who played baseball at Western Michigan University and is now a prospect in the Cincinnati Red’s organization. As you can see, Stephanie was always everyone’s #1 fan!
Although our hearts ache from the loss of Stephanie, we know that she is no longer in pain, and she can now support and watch over us all. That is what she loved the most.
Visitation will be at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, in Holland, on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Ridge Point Church, 340 104th Avenue, in Holland, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be provided following the funeral service at the Holland Elks Lodge, where Stephanie was a member and enjoyed hanging out with so many of her friends.
In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to The Harris Family Fund being set up through Edward Jones to help Clint and his children move on from this tragic loss.
