Roland J. Overway: DOB 11/16/1944 Holland, MI DOD 1/25/24 Grand Rapids, MI
Roland passed away peacefully on January 25 after battling with lung cancer. He was born in Holland, MI to Roland and Janet Overway. He was their only child. He attended Holland High School and he helped with his parent’s restaurant, B & G Drive-in. After graduation he went to work for Holland Hitch for 45 years until his retirement. Roland was a member of Community Reformed Church for many years. He loved to watch as many Lions and Tigers games as possible, truck and tractor pulling, camping with friends and family, and cheering on his grandkids at their events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marlene; and dearly missed by his daughters Sheila (Jim) Breslin, Peggy Molewyk, Marjorie (Mark) Warner, Kathy Maydon, Kristi Overway, and Melissa Overway; 19 grandkids, 22 great-grand kids.
Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024, from 9:30-10:45am in the commons at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch Street, Zeeland, the funeral service will follow at 11 am. Luncheon following the service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Community Reformed Church Benevolent Fund. www.yntemafh.com
