Glenn Jay Renkema, age 65, of Holland passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at his home with his faithful dog Ollie at his side.
Glenn’s passion was getting out on the open road with his Honda motorcycles and over the years really had fun on his KTM dirt bikes.
He was an expert at fixing things and sharing his knowledge with others.
Glenn was employed at Sealed Power for 21 years and retired from Agritek after 8 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed working on his motorcycles and playing solitaire.
Glenn loved spending time with his family and friends, including taking his grandkids for rides to many different places.
He was a very giving person who would give the shirt off his back to anybody, and anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Arlene (Heerspink) Renkema, a sister Linda Steede, brother Jerry Renkema and stepson Dion Heys.
He is survived by his wife Brenda and his children: Joshua Renkema and fiancé Jennifer Boersema of Holland, MI and their children Joshua L., Wyatt, Mallory, Jackson, and Colton, Benjamin (Christy) Renkema of Greenville, South Carolina, Joseph (Jennifer) Renkema of Holland and their children Paige, and Jake; stepchildren: Eric (Lisa) Hofmann of Coopersville, MI, and their children Caden, Logan and Cameron, Braden (Jodi) Hofmann of Grand Rapids, and Jenea Lefford of Grand Rapids and their children Adriana, Adam, and Brian; stepgrandchild Damien Heys (Dion’s son); brother: John (Connie) Renkema of Allegan, MI; sister: Wanda Renkema of Hart, MI; brother-in-law: Bill Steede; mother-in-law: Dortha Oostveen of Wyoming, MI; the children’s mother Lynda Renkema of Holland, MI.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, January 26, 2024, at Dykstra Funeral Homes – Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland.Rev. Frank Senters will be officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Twp. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the chapel and one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
